Why and How Do Affirmations Work?


We speak negative statements on most days when we state or think: I am always running late. I can’t find anything to wear. The project is overwhelming. I never feel rested. Just thinking about that makes me anxious. I am so tired and burned out. 

Such constant thoughts and words tell our brain to be stressed, alert, and possibly anxious. When you read personal affirmations or speak one aloud, does the statement ring true for you?
